It sure has been a short couple of weeks! We spent the last two weeks creating Easter crafts such as tissue paper Easter chicks, bunny finger puppets and paper Easter eggs with patterns drawn on them. We hopped like a bunny along a masking tape course and drew with oil pastels and painted over it with watercolour paints as well.
We practiced identifying and writing letters through our Easter egg letter hunt game, where everyone had to hunt for an Easter egg, run back to say what it was called and write it on the whiteboard using uppercase and lowercase letters. Everyone has been doing so well! It is great to see all the letters facing the proper direction!
There was a bunch of letter learning these past couple of weeks. Letters B, R, A and K were explored, as well as many word families, including “at", “are" and "ight/ite". I love how these word families are coming up so naturally as we continue to explore letters and letter sound combinations.
Everyone was pretty excited to see the results of our rock candy. They were even more excited to take one home to eat!
Some others activities we did were journals, baking, puzzles, and some baking soda/vinegar experiments/play as per child request.
Bella had her surgery not long ago and is now recovering…although she thinks she is 100% better. The kids had the chance to visit with Bella about a week after her surgery and learned about how to treat her and how she will recover.
