With the completion of the Castle Iced Tea/Lemonade stand came time for setting up outside and selling. The kids worked so hard to put this stand together and were great little sellers waving down customers. They had practice pouring, serving, washing cups and communicating with customers. What little entrepreneurs!

August 18th, 2017 Summer’s end is almost near! * The kids have been working on a big summer project that will allow them to work as a team to prepare and pour lemonade/iced tea for others, collect and count money, take care of dirty dishes and of course head to DQ for a treat from the profits. * We were lucky to find a small kids event going on in the neighbouring community. Hola hoops, building supplies, sidewalk chalk with water, colouring, balls and music. Fun! August 11th, 2017 Summer time fun! * There was a very special 5th birthday. We baked and decorated chocolate cupcakes with green icing. * We visited the green park to play and have a picnic lunch. * Who knew playing on the baseball diamond would be so much fun! After playing in the orange dirt, we had some very dirty little kids. We decided that because everyone was so dirty, we would play in the backyard with the water toys and little pools. * We began an end of summer project called a Castle Lemonade/Iced Tea stand. The kids want to sell lemonade and iced tea to make money to go to the ice cream shop. This will be a great way to work as a team, collect and help count money, and pouring lemonade/iced tea for others. We look forward to this project! August 4th, 2017 What a beautiful week! It has been wonderful being able to spend so much time outdoors during these summer weeks. We made our way to a super fun playground that had many new things to play on. Among our outdoors excursions, we have been practicing identifying what letters have diagonal lines vs curves, writing these letters, reviewing shapes and how many sides they have. We also used oil pastels to draw with for the first time this week. |
