Happy Thanksgiving! I hope everyone is having a wonderful holiday weekend.
We learned and talked a lot about what it means to be thankful and all the things we are grateful to have in our lives that others may not have. We sang thankful songs, read The Thankful Book by Todd Parr and danced along to the Turkey Pokey and the Turkey Hop.
Gobble Gobble went our play dough turkeys. It is always fun to play with our play dough creations after they have been completed! We also made Coffee Filter Turkeys that were painted with watercolours, and a Name Turkey where each feather has a letter from our name written. We can’t forget our turkey feather colour matching game as well. That was a lot of fun. It ended up turning into a race to see who could match their coloured feathers the quickest.
We sure are hoping this good Fall weather holds up for as long as it can! We have been spending as much time outdoors as we can. This past week we adventured in and around the ravine and went own a leaf hunt. We then clipped the stems and laminated those leaves, and used them to write the things we are thankful for on. The kids are laminating pros!
Most of us finished up our Family Trees this past week. We are so excited for moms and dads to see them on our wall!
Some of our nursery rhymes chosen this week include Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes, Pat-a-Cake and the Hokey Pokey.
Magic C Bunny came out to dance and sing with us this past week while we were learning about the letter C and O. He loves the letter C and letters that start with the same formation (O, Q, G). After our letter songs and our brainstorming for C words, everyone had to think of their favourite letter C word to tell Magic C Bunny before they could go play. It was super sweet to watch and listen too.
