We have been very excited to celebrate Halloween! Everyone was looking forward to wearing their costumes and seeing what their friends were coming dressed up as.
We were a busy group this week! Below are the our activities;
-Searching for creepy crawlers in a cauldron of green noodles. Then sorted them by type, identified colours, and identified beginning letter sounds.
-Human spider web.
-More pumpkin scooping and carving
-Puking pumpkins
-Coloured pumpkin seed art.
-Cotton ball ghost painting
-Play dough bone dig
-Salt and watercolour spiderweb web science/art
-Find the Bat under the Hat game (colours and rhyming)
-Witch potion making. Materials included a syringe, spoon, mini cauldrons, mini bones/bats/spiders, and baking soda/vinegar. They were having such a fun time that this activity lasted about an hour and a half!!
-Pumpkin number counting, number identification and matching number words.
-Halloween number puzzles
Our letters this week were G and S. The kids practiced writing them, built a skeleton and drew a ghost in their journals to represent the letters.
We also enjoyed exploring areas of the ravine we haven't spent much time in; finding a huge rock to climb and jump off of, a mini forest to walk through, hills to climb and slide, and water/ice/snow to play in.
